Let's work it out, talk it out
and blog it out.

The bag blog is an open exchange of ideas on sustainable packaging, green initiatives and the earth in general. Pull up a chair, have a read and have a say.

Bag The Box is BACK

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for…drumroll, please?

Bag The Box re-launch day!

Okay… this is possibly a moment that only a few of us have been getting super excited about, and the rest of you are wondering what this pomp and circumstance is all about. Let’s rewind, and I’ll tell you about the past few months, what we’re up to, and who “we” are. (It just feels like we’re friends already, right? Sorry for getting ahead of myself!)

Bag The Box is a movement that’s been around for a little while. Those of you bag-savvy insiders know the drill: Malt-O-Meal makes cereal in bags because there’s really no point in sticking that fresh-friendly bag inside of a boxy old box. But there’s more…

We started wondering about where those boxes come from in the first place. There’s a whole inside scoop behind all that byproduct badness before the box even gets to the store, makes its way into pantries across America, and inevitably ends up in the trash. So we crunched some numbers and guess what: pretty eye opening math.

So here we are with a spiffy new website. We’re introducing you to even more cereal brands that we make in bags. We’ll give you the 411 on the inner-workings of our company that thinks A LOT about cereal, but even more about cool stuff like partnerships with great organizations (we’ll introduce you to our earth friendly pals right here on the blog). We’ll also share how we’re figuring out new ways to think green and envision a world with less boxes.

Me? I’m Jessica. I work at Malt-O-Meal. I’m just finishing grad school and recently got hitched. I love great blogs, funny YouTube videos, and long walks on the beach. Just kidding about the beach, but I’m definitely looking forward to bringing you the skinny on all things Bag The Box. Stay tuned for great stories, fun videos, an introduction to our awesome team, and having lots of fun along the way.

See? Exciting stuff! Ok—back to work. Reviewing some great Greenest Classroom Contest entries. (I love my job.)
