Take a Swim…in a Bag of Malt-O-Meal?
You heard that right! We asked our friends at Earth911.com to come up with some pretty clever ideas for re-using Malt-O-Meal cereal bags – and you have a chance to vote for your favorite!
When was the last time you found a cereal bag, a scratched CD and a gift box and thought, “Hey, I could make a bikini out of these!”? Thanks to the hot summer temperatures and a popular reality TV show about fashion, one Earth911 staffer got the inspiration for a re-purposed swimsuit.
The next time you’re at a cocktail party, you’ll get a lot of great compliments for a certain jewelry gem. Roll up strips of a few Malt-O-Meal cereal bags, string them together, and you have a colorful necklace.
Or what about a plastic, easy-to-wipe-off placemat made from Malt-O-Meal bags? It’s easy to do: just cut the bags into strips, weave them together and fasten the ends together with a glue gun. A mother of three at Earth911 had this idea, maybe she’s cleaned up her share of spilled milk and cereal!
